R.I.P. Arnold Stang by Granitoons R.I.P. Arnold Stang by Granitoons
Whipped out after I heard of the death of Arnold Stang. He did a tonne of stuff, but will probably be most remembered as the voice of the indisputible leader of the gang! Will miss you A.S. Another part of my upbringing is gone.

Definitely the voice of Top Cat, but years ago he gave the bite in a series of candy commercials for "what a bunch of chocolate" ("Chunkies").

Arnold Stang. Don't remember his character from It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World much, but I remember the voices of all the characters he did on Courage The Cowardly Dog Show very fondly.
Like the Sand Whale, "Ickett! Ickett Bagge! He's standing Right There! Don't try ta fool me!" The slug kid, "And the dental coverage STINKS!" Mustafa Bacterius, "Ha ha ha ha ha! I've not yet begun to fight!" And so many others!
God loved and loves that man!

One of my favorite characters and voice actors that you drew for him, and you perfected it Granitoons

I remember watching Top Cat on Boomerang years ago and actually liking both the show and the theme really. This drawing made me smile and cry alittle because I remember when they announced his death, it was pretty tragic. :'(

But hey, with this drawing, it made me feel happy again and I think that Mr. Stang would be very proud of this tribute man. :)

Top Cat to me is still one of my favorite chatacters really.

I actually talked with my dad about it today, and I think he put it best. "That's too bad, but he didn't take Top Cat with him thankfully." His legacy lives on through an impressive career. :) And nice job on this fitting tribute, the whole gang'll be proud!

The Honey Nut Cheerios bee.

Catfish in the "Misterjaws" cartoon show.

Getting beaten up by Jonathan Winters at the gas station in "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World"

Sidekick to a heroin-addicted Frank Sinatra in "The Man with the Golden Arm".

Sidekick in Arnold Schwarzenegger's first film "Hercules in New York" in 1970.

Heckling and playing a bratty nephew of Milton Berle on his radio show in the 1950s.

Distinctive memorable voice.

Thanks for that! Even had Phil Silvers and Terry-Thomas as well. The fellow at 2.45 sounds familiar too.

A very fitting tribute indeed. Kinda sad to see our childhood memories and heroes slowly slipping away little by little...

Yes, I'm certainly sitting up and taking notice these days. In the past of course, most of my heroes had passed on before I was even thought of, but I'm noticing more nowadays.

I was watching 100 Greatest Kids TV Shows last night and Top Cat came on (pretty high on the list, I might add). Then I remembered this news and was a bit saddened. Why do all the awesome people have to die around Christmas? :(

I know, it was so weird because Joe Barbera died around this time three years ago. As a kid, I never really noticed mt idols slipping away, but I'm really feeling it now.

It's sad that a talented person has to pass away to get recognised for their talents...:( The penny didn't drop for me about who he was 'till I saw :iconqwertypictures:' little tribute to him. Goes without saying, he will be missed, and this is a very fitting tribute, no doubt.
